Game of Thrones is a popular Fantasy TV series. The series takes place in a mythical world on the continents Westeros and Essos and is broadcasted on HBO. The very first season of GoT was on air in 2012 and seven seasons have now been released. Season number eight is the last season and is expected to be aired in April 2019. Game of Thrones is written by author George R.R. Martin and the TV series are based on his books.
Game of Thrones is about a power struggle in which several parties want to take power over the throne, this of course is not without battles and blood. The Stark family living in the Castle Winterfell is in conflict with The Lannisters, a terrible family with lots of money. Of course we won't tell too much because we do not want to spoil. The city wall is protected and guarded by the Night's Watch. An awesome character from the series is Daenerys Targaryen, played by actress Emilia Clarke. She is also called the mother of dragons because at the beginning of the series she has dragon eggs that come out later, after which she has three baby dragons. Eventually the dragons grow big. The dragons could be used in the war and burn down an entire battlefield. The well-known actress Carice van Houten also plays a role. She plays Melisandre 'The Red Priestress' who has the ability to see the future when looking into the fire. We look forward to the new season which seems to be the last one.
